Exciting Chapter Books to Grow Into- Part 1

Do you have a “someday shelf” in your home library? A collection of books that you enjoyed and absolutely must share with your kids someday? If you’ve never thought of it, here are a few of my favorite exciting chapter books to grow into:

• The Dark is Rising Series by Susan Cooper – a fantasy series where 11 year old Will must discover the power within himself and remember he is part of “the Old Ones.” A series of stories featuring immortals and good vs evil. In my opinion, an engaging series for ages 6th grade and up.

• At the Back of the North Wind / The Princess and the Goblin / The Princess and Curdie by George MacDonald – a trio of fantasy fairy tales from the author who was said to inspire C.S. Lewis (Narnia) and J. R. R. Tolkein (Lord of the Rings)

• The Chronicles of Narnia 8-Book Box Set + Trivia Book

• The Hobbit Illustrated by the Author
